Garden Guidelines
HOURS: Sun – Friday, daylight hours (As a church, we believe that Saturday, the 7th day, is set aside for spiritual rest and worship, as stated in the 4th Commandment. Therefore, our garden is not available on Saturday. For more information, go to Sabbathtruth.com, or contact Pastor Scott Morton at 863-443-6545.)
Visit your garden plot often and get to know your fellow community gardeners.
Keep your plot and the adjoining pathways well-cared-for. Use a garden rake on unplanted areas, and hoe weeds between rows while they are small. Allowing your plot to become overgrown with weeds may jeopardize your present and future participation in the community garden.
Participants must supply all their own tools for gardening their plot.
All tools must be taken home each day
The Williston Seventh-day Adventist Church is not responsible for personal tools missing, stolen, or left behind
The trash barrel may be used, but please do not overfill it. If the barrel is full, please take your trash with you.
Please conserve water by watering plants in the morning or evening, rather than in the heat of the day. Apply water at the base of plants where possible. Keep hoses and connections in good repair. Use mulch (hay, straw, or wood chips) to reduce evaporation from the soil. Use water wisely and conserve where possible. Unattended watering via sprinklers and/or underground watering systems is not allowed.
Gardeners are responsible for cleaning up their garden plot by the closing date for the garden site.
Each gardener must complete a Release of all Claims form before any work in the garden can begin.
We prohibit the growing of marijuana, hemp, or tobacco, and growing any crops for commercial purposes.
Children are welcome in the garden but must be accompanied by an adult and must be supervised at all times.
Pets must be well-behaved and sociable, and stay out of the garden beds. You must pick up after your pet.
Let’s keep the garden a peaceful and safe place! Courteous, neighborly, and appropriate behavior is expected at all times in the garden, and any behavior contrary to this is a reason to ask you to leave. This includes rudeness, inappropriate behavior of any kind, and the use of tobacco, alcohol, or drugs in the gardens or showing up impaired by alcohol or drugs.
